ABOUT
Every teacher in every classroom on earth teaches students who are transgender and gender expansive.
However, since this is often a hidden identity - meaning that it might not be outwardly obvious if a student holds a gender expansive identity - teachers might feel ill-equipped when a student "comes out."
Our goal is to help teachers to create inclusive spaces for all of their students.
Numerous studies have shown that transgender and gender expansive students who have one affirming adult have lower levels of serious depression and are at lower risk of dying by suicide. When a teacher demonstrates a welcoming environment, students feel safer and will often feel more comfortable living in their truth.
At our presentations we demonstrate the importance for gender inclusivity at every level of education and provide specific ways that teachers can approach inclusivity in their own spaces.
